Introduced in 1960 and long discontinued, the #0069
Mountains of the Moon is a 9" semicircular disk of solid
crystal representing the heavens and earth as seen from
the surface of the moon. This exhibition piece was
originally presented to each of the Apollo 8 astronauts
by Governor Nelson Rockefeller on behalf of the people
of NY State to honor the heroic crew for man's first
flight around the moon. |
